With over 40 years of farming experience in the Okanagan, the Sidhu family has deep roots in Oliver, BC. Our wines are a celebration of our deep-rooted heritage and our commitment to producing premium quality Okanagan wines.
Our Story
Some stories are written in ink. Ours was written in soil.
In 1980, our father left everything he knew in India to chase a dream in the South Okanagan. He found it here in Oliver, British Columbia—on a small farm where the sun shapes the vines and the mountains frame the valley. Decades later, on that very same land, we founded Vasanti Estate Winery—a tribute to his courage and the life he built from the ground up.
For over 20 years, we’ve grown premium wine grapes in the South Okanagan, supplying some of the region’s most respected wineries. Today, we craft estate-grown, small-lot wines in Oliver, BC, led by our winemaker Petar Djuric, whose approach focuses on sustainable practices, precision winemaking, and expressing the true character of our vineyards. Our early vintages were shaped in collaboration with renowned winemaker Jason Parkes, who continues to support our evolution in a consulting role.
In June 2024, we opened our tasting room in Oliver and released our first wines. Within our first year, Vasanti Estate Winery earned over 20 medals across provincial, national, and international wine competitions—an early milestone that reflects our commitment to quality and craftsmanship in Okanagan wine.
Vasanti means “new beginnings” in Punjabi. For us, it represents renewal, growth, and the ongoing pursuit of excellence in both vineyard and cellar. Each vintage is a fresh opportunity to refine our craft and produce wines that capture the essence of the South Okanagan.

Petar Djuric
Lead Winemaker | Vasanti Estate Winery
Petar Djuric is the Winemaker at Vasanti Estate Winery in Oliver, BC, crafting small-lot wines that reflect the unique terroir of the South Okanagan. His approach is rooted in low-intervention winemaking, sustainable vineyard and cellar practices, and gentle cellar techniques, with a focus on producing expressive, balanced wines that authentically capture their origin.
With a foundation in hospitality and wine program development, Petar brings a refined understanding of both wine and the consumer experience. This perspective shapes his philosophy at Vasanti—creating wines that form a seamless connection between vineyard, glass, and guest.
Since arriving in the Okanagan Valley in 2021, Petar has worked alongside leading Okanagan winemakers, gaining hands-on experience across vineyard management and cellar operations. His experience also includes international harvest work in Chile’s Maule Valley, adding a global lens to his craft.
Petar holds a Certificate in Viticulture from Okanagan College and is certified through the Court of Master Sommeliers. At Vasanti Estate Winery, he is focused on elevating quality through precision, restraint, and a commitment to wines that speak clearly of place.
Outside of the winery, Petar enjoys time with family and friends, often with his dog Bean by his side.
Our Team
Connor Knapp – Estate Manager
Connor joined our team shortly before the winery opened in May of 2025. Bringing nearly a decade of hospitality experience, Connor assisted in shaping the tasting room program from day one. He also holds his WSET Level 3.
Long before his journey into wine, he studied theatre – a background that shines through in the way he helps shape guest experiences and the wine clubs at Vasanti. With an eye for detail and a sense of timing, Connor makes sure every visit feels thoughtful, engaging, and memorable.
He also contributes beyond the hospitality side of the winery, sharing ideas with ownership and our winemaking team, adding perspective and sometimes sparking debates that help refine both our wines and our experiences.
Outside of the winery, Connor is fond of playing tabletop roleplaying games and loves a great movie.
Favourite White Varietal: “Riesling all day. It does it all, dry, off-dry, sweet, you can sparkle it. I love Riesling.”
Favourite Red Varietal: “This one is really hard to say, but I’ve been loving Cab Franc lately. Syrah is always in my top 5 though.”

OUR VINEYARDS
Nestled in the warm, sunny South Okanagan, our vineyards in Oliver and Osoyoos B.C. boast a unique blend of climate, soil, and topography that yield high quality fruit and wines.We believe that excellent wine-growing practices are dependent on knowing your soil, vines, and reacting accordingly to mother nature.With our knowledge of the unique “terroir” (as the French say) of our Okanagan vineyards, we work all season long to find the perfect balance to ensure our fruit and wine are exceptional.
Suncrest Vineyard Osoyoos, BC
Suncrest has deep sand that runs throughout the vineyard, encouraging plant stress. The nearby lake helps balance nighttime temperatures. Granite is intermingled in the sand, adding mineral depth – perfect for high-quality red wines.

PARADISE VINEYARD
Oliver, BC
Paradise Vineyard is made up of silt from the Okanagan River and its floodplains. Pockets of this vineyard show gravel, sand, and glacio-fluvial soil. Flatter land allows a more balanced day for sunlight.

Our Granite Lake Vineyard receives an even distribution of heat from the morning and afternoon Okanagan sun. The lake proximity also helps cool the vines at night. This vineyard yields remarkable Cabernet sauvignon single varietals, blends, and even rosé.
